PSY 437: Psychology of Gender
Fall 2025
This course explores how gender is constructed and experienced in cultural, historical, and everyday contexts. It examines how gender operates in settings such as education, family life, and the workplace, while also highlighting the intersection of gender with race, class, sexuality, and other identities.
The goals of this course are:
1) to explore how gender is constructed in everyday life, for example: in the classroom, in the family, and in the workplace.
2) to promote critical thinking about popular and scientific theories and research about gender.
*This course is 3 credits.
